Location

We are located in the center of Potsdam, directly on the Havel and the Schiffbauergasse cultural center. You can reach us on foot from Potsdam main station in about 15 minutes. Arrival by tram:

• Either from Potsdam main station in 6 minutes with lines 93, 94 or 99 to the “Holzmarktstraße” stop. From there it’s a 2-minute walk to us.
• Or from the S Babelsberg station in 5 minutes with the tram line 94 or 99 to the “Schiffbauergasse/Uferweg” stop. The educational center is located directly below the bridge, opposite the red fire department building.

Culture
Right next door is the cultural area on Schiffbauergasse, which includes, among other things, the Hans Otto Theater, an open-air event stage and the Fluxus Museum. Theater and dance performances, concerts and exhibitions as well as a restaurant ship and a beach café offer numerous opportunities for a varied cultural program. If you are ever in Potsdam, a visit to the film museum or the Babelsberg film park is of course also a good idea.

Nature and movement
For exercise and educational experiences, there are raft and canoe tours, whose rental stations are just a short walk away – as is the Babelsberg lido on Tiefen See. We would be happy to show you where you can rent bikes nearby. On the Havel you will find many green spaces that are ideal for outdoor programs. There are also numerous lakes in the area.

Historical
Historically interesting places that you can easily reach on foot include the Glienicke Bridge, Villa Schöningen and the approximately 160-kilometer-long Berlin Wall Trail with information boards. We also recommend a visit to the Lindenstrasse memorial for the victims of political violence in the 20th century and to discover some older history, it is worth taking a walk to the Russian colony of Alexandrowka, which was founded by Friedrich Wilhelm III. built by Prussia in 1826. Babelsberg Castle in the English Gothic style and the park of the same name are also within walking distance. You can easily reach Sanssouci Palace and its extensive parks in about 15 minutes by public transport.

Downtown
After a short 15-minute walk you are in the middle of Potsdam city center with other sights, shops and cultural institutions.

Berlin
Several tram lines connect the educational institution directly to Potsdam Central Station or, alternatively, to the Babelsberg S-Bahn station, from where you can continue to Berlin: You can reach the Berlin Zoological Garden in just about 30 minutes.
